| WALLS INTO FLOWERS | Lyrics begun as Princess Diana's funeral played on TV. Backup singers include Terry Reid and Carolyne Mas. | |

| SERFIN USA | ||
| ALLONS DANSER | In search of national recognition, Bas Clas relocated to Atlanta for a few years. Here are three songs from their 1988 demo. "Allons Danser" highlights their Cajun roots. | |
| MOOD FOR LOVE | ||
| LA TI DA | ||
| PERLA BATALLA | MORNING STAR | After working with artists such as Leonard Cohen and k.d. lang, Perla made her solo debut on Warner/Discovery a few years ago. With the release of MESTIZA on her own label, she further defined her own unique style. More songs from this and two subsequent albums can be found at Perla's site. |

TROUBLESHOOTINGHARDWARE
You need a computer with a sound card and speakers. If you have this but never hear sounds at any time, it's probably a general problem specific to your equipment. Consult with the manufacturer's tech support.
SOFTWARE
To hear RealAudio, you need a RealPlayer. You'll need version 8.0 or higher to hear the newer songs. The older tracks are encoded as version 3.0, so an older player will suffice for those songs. To download your FREE copy, click on the icon below. You'll have to look around the Real.com download page for the FREE version (they'd rather you buy the fancy version). Remember, after you download the program, you need to "install" it before you can use it.
VOLUME TOO LOUD OR SOFT
Because not all sources have the same record/playback volume, you may need to adjust the volume for some songs. With RealAudio there are two volume controls, one on your computer and one on the RealPlayer itself.
Setting the master volume for your computer depends on what kind of hardware and operating system you have. If you are using Windows, click on the little speaker icon in the lower right-hand corner of the screen (next to the time clock). A graphic of a slider-type volume control, similar to one on a stereo system, will appear. To use it, "drag" the slider up or down until you get a suitable volume level. On a Mac, the volume slider can be found in the Control Panel.
The RealPlayer also has a slider control. It should generally be left in the middle-to-high position. (If there is no slider on your player, it may be because your sound card does not support it. Check the RealPlayer's help section for more info about that.)
SONGS WON'T STREAM
If the RealPlayer can't connect to the sound file at all, or the song starts playing but there are gaps in the music, it may be rush hour on the information superhighway, and traffic has slowed to a crawl.
You can try again during "off-peak" hours. This page will still be here. You might also try logging on with an alternate access number, if you have that option, since one route may be less busy than another.
A long-range solution is to get a faster Internet connection, either through an upgrade (faster modem, ISDN, etc.), or by switching to another Internet Service Provider (ISP). NOTE: By going through an online service such as America Online, your connection will be slower than if you have Internet access through a plain ISP.
Finally, if you don't mind waiting a few minutes, try the song links below. What happens with these links is that the entire file downloads first, and then the song plays. The download usually takes about as long as the song itself. The benefit is that the song plays perfectly. You can even hit the PLAY button and repeat the clip without having to wait for the player to reconnect to ElectricEarl.com.
