To promote the 1931 Universal Pictures film Frankenstein, the Smoot Theater placed
an ambulance and two nurses at the disposal of shocked patrons.

In an advertising campaign with the Smoot Theater in 1939, Stern
Brothers Clothing Store offered tickets to Gone With the Wind.

The Virginia Theater was located at 410 Juliana Street.

Here's a list of Parkersburg movie theaters. The Camden, built in the 1890s, was originally an opera house, but it began to exhibit films sometime after 1910. It burned down in 1929. The Hippodrome was probably Parkersburg's first movie theater. It shut down in the 1920s and the Smoot was built in its place.   (Thanks to Mike Rinehart for his help.)

Jungle Drive In - Rt #2 North, at Rt #31
Belpre Open Air - Washington Blvd, Belpre
Riverside Drive In - Rt #7, just north of Belpre
