Standing: William Henry (Bill) Robinson (currently lives in Summit, NJ.), Burnette William Peters (now a retired USAF Lt.Colonel in Hampton, VA), James Cyress (the only deceased member of Sumner's Class of '46 as of August 2002), James Edward Queen (a Korean War Bronze Star winner and former Exxon executive in Houston), James Eugene Tibbs (a Union Carbide retiree now living in Belpre, and Kenneth Milton 'Tid' Amiss (now a retired union official in Cleveland). Sitting: Fawne Dascella Young (now Clay; lives in Milford, PA), Gloria Powell (now Stanford, who, having "done everything from scrubbing 'Ms Ann's' floor to running $4 million corporation for 5 years," now lives between Detroit, MI, and Apple Valley, CA), Maggie Winstead Powell (Gloria's mother, now almost 100 and living in Detroit), Grace Anne Hatcher (now Nowlin, now a hairdresser in Cleveland), and Mary ?, who attended Sumner only for a short time. Absent that day was Anna Pearl Johnson (now Washington, who still lives just two blocks away on Bush Street). |
