BALTIMORE
WORDS & MUSIC: Earl P. Reinhalter
I. from the train
I see street signs
that still remain.
chilling winds
chase the fallen leaves
down the streets
where I used to play
in the summertime
long ago.
II. all aboard,
the new passengers
take my seat.
I walk past
where I used to live.
looks unreal,
like a movie set
built from scratch from a
photograph.
III. earth, revolve
like an ancient
commuter train.
time to go to
the car ahead,
where my ticket
says I should be,
where the winds converge
on today.
